PSHE
The Fulham Bilingual believes in nurturing the child and paying close attention to pupil and staff wellbeing. We have a common understanding that wellbeing is the responsibility of the whole-school community. We deliver a structured and progressive curriculum which fosters social, emotional and behavioural skills.
This curriculum is delivered in four parts:
- British and French Values
- Healthy Mind, healthy Body
- The Environment
- Embracing difference
Each year, the children re-encounter these topics, building on prior learning. We wish for the children at the Bilingual to feel confident in keeping themselves and others safe and play an active role in improving the world they live in.
In addition to discreet PSHE lessons, the school has a shared language and an agreed set of strategies for the following:
- Calming down
- Conflict resolution
- Problem solving and
- Managing and talking about feelings
We place great importance on developing the children’s emotional literacy. This year, the school has introduced the Zones of Regulation to support the children identify, label and own their emotions. The blob tree is used throughout school to help the children share how they are feeling, even if they don't have the words.
