Online Safety

At the Fulham Bilingual, we take the online safety of the children extremely seriously. Through our computing curriculum we try and cover all aspects of keeping children safe online, but with the ever-expanding digital world, it can be hard to keep up!

These free 'Be Internet Legends' resources from Google are an excellent free resource that educate children about the online world in a fun, focused way.

With the recent increase in screen time and overall device usage at home, knowing what you can do to keep your children safe in this respect is of great importance.

Fortunately, there are a number of parental controls that can be applied across all devices to ensure that children are only accessing age-appropriate material.

If you have any iOS/Apple devices, you can find advice here on how to set up the parental controls.
If you have any Android/Google devices, this page gives advice on using Google Family Link.

On top of these, there are various settings that can be applied to other types of devices and your broadband/wifi to limit access to online content. This page from internetmatters.org has more general advice, but if you scroll half way down you can use the drop-down menus to find specific guidance to set controls on any device in your home, games consoles for example.

This also links to Parent Zone, an excellent online resource with detailed information and advice about all aspects of online safety.

The links below are also to help you, as parents, better equip your child for the digital world that they now find themselves living in.
