Phonics
What is Phonics?
Phonics is a way of teaching children how to read and write. It helps children hear, identify and use different sounds that distinguish one word from another in the English language. (National Literacy Trust)
At the Fulham Bilingual we use the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised scheme when teaching the children phonics. It is a complete systematic synthetic phonics programme (SSP). Based on the original Letters and Sounds, but extensively revised to help our children go beyond the expectations of the Phonics Screening Check and become fluent and passionate readers.
You can find lots of handy tutorial videos around sounds and blending here.
