We believe in knowing exactly where each child is with their learning. We assess the children informally each day to decide how they have achieved and to use this information to shape our planning for the following day or week.
We also believe in giving the children the opportunity to practise sitting more formal assessments each term from GS- CM2. This gives a snapshot of how they are achieving in relation to the whole curriculum. It helps us identify trends and track progress. We tell the children that these are "Show me what you knows" rather than use the word "Test". This means that the children are prepared for sitting their SATs in CP and CM2 without showing signs of anxiety.
Each year, parents will be invited to a SATs information meeting at the end of April. Boosters are optional for CM2 and run twice a week in the Spring term. All home learning is directly linked to the curriculum and by completing a little each day will help the children succeed.
What do we do with the results? The results are analysed by the School Leadership Team who then use this data to re-shape planning and teacher training to ensure all core subjects are taught and learned well thus meaning all of our wonderful pupils reach their potential.
