Religious Education
Our School Vision
Only those children enrolled via Holy Cross will be provided with a Catholic education.
The Fulham Bilingual, Holy Cross provides for the educational needs of Catholic children aged between 3 - 11 who live in and around the Holy Cross Church parish in Parsons Green and the children of the Sands End area attending Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church, Stephendale Road, both in the Archdiocese of Westminster.
We aim to create a caring yet challenging atmosphere with enhances high expectation to all our children so that they develop and gradually come to understand the Gospel values and the way they influence our lives.
Our mission is to inspire pupils on their journey of fullness of life through:
- Enabling Learning
- Nurturing faith
- Developing Relationships
- Celebrating Achievements
We believe that by providing children with the very best educational experiences and opportunities, recognising their individual talents, ambitions and strengths and guiding them to develop spiritually, emotionally, socially and academically - we will lead our pupils on the path to live their lives fully.
In addition to studying the Life and Teachings of Jesus, the children study a variety of World Faiths. This enables our pupils to understand more about the larger community and wider world. We show the similarities rather than the differences.
To help the children develop their knowledge of their faith, the school uses the Dr Margaret Carswell Framework Model which is taught in a three year cycle and links to the liturgical year. The content of this Model offers a systematic programme of study which comprehensively covers all the strands and requirements of the Curriculum Directory.
Each topic plan ensures progression and depth of provision from the follwing areas:
- Revelation: Story, Scripture, Memory and Tradition of the Church.
- Church: Community, Discipleship, Witness
- Celebration: Sacrament, Ritual, Prayer, Worship, Liturgy
- Life in Christ: Lifestyle, Morality, Values, Attitudes.
